PREAMBLE

We, The students of Aligarh Muslim University, being fully aware of the responsibilities, obligations, rights and privileges we possess as members of the Aligarh Muslim University community and as part of the greater ecological order, do hereby adopt this constitution in order to represent our interests, opinions, and actions as members of the Eco Club, Aligarh Muslim University in our pursuit of improving the biological health of Earth along with local communities and ecosystems and their inhabitants.
Article 1 Name of the organization - The name of the organization shall be the Eco Club of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, written hereinafter as the ECAMU.
Article 2 Purpose of the organization- (1) the purpose of this organization is to heighten the environmental awareness of the campus community and work to improve environmental health (defined as ecological sustainability and well-being as well as the associated social impacts) on campus, local, and regional levels.
(2) To co operate, collaborate and maintain correspondence with other organization with common or similar interest.
(3) ECAMU will accomplish these goals through education and the promotion of environmentally conscious products and activities.
Article 3 Membership - This organization welcomes all students who are concerned with the welfare of our planet's health. The ECAMU encourages membership by students of all races, sex, nationalities, ethnic, and religious affiliations. The ECAMU realizes the value of varying experiences and ideas to the growth and effectiveness of the organization.
Article 4 - Officers and their duties - (1) the ECAMU includes the following officers: President, Secretary, Treasurer.
The officers stated directly above along with the executive member will make up the executive committee.
(2) The president's duties include:
(A) Presiding as chair of ECAMU meetings,
(B) Coordinating the actions necessary to carry out proposals.
(C) Calling special meetings as needed.
(3) The secretary's duties include:
(A) Keeping the minutes and maintaining a file of action taken.
(B) Assuming the duties of the president in the event of the president's absence.
(4) The treasurer's duties include:
(A) Preparation of the organizations budget for the ensuing academic year.
(B) Keeping records of expenditure and incomes, supervising management of all financial transactions and making business reports to the organization body,
(C) Keeping financial records available for public inspections at all times.
(5) Executive member's duty includes:
(A) To assist the president, secretary and treasurer.
(B) Any other work which is assigned to them.
Article 5 Meetings - (1) The ECAMU shall be scheduled to meet at the appointed date and time.
(2) The president when necessary can call additional meetings at a time and place announced and posted publicly no less than 24 hours in advance.
Article 6 Amendments - (1) proposed amendments to the constitution shall be discussed by the organization body before submission for vote.
(2) Amendments shall be ratified by a majority vote of the organization following the discussion of the amendment.
